“Helsinki Street – More towards nothing” is an exhibition showcasing some of the best photographs published on the Helsinki Street blog as well as works that have never been seen before. All the photographers involved in the collective share one thing in common: a fascination and love for Helsinki. Why go look for the exotic in other parts of the world when the exotic is right here. Helsinki Street wants to show us that, for a photographer, the most vivid experiences may well come from aimlessly wandering the streets of one’s own home city.

Radio program called Kulturtimmen in Radio Vega will interview our Kenneth Bamberg on Thursday 5.7 at 14.03-15.
Listen it up! Must be intresting!
Kenneth Bamberg is now also attending in Forum Box´s new great exhibition called Art Is So Gay. Here is a little story behind the pictures:
“I met Lars in the public sauna in Kallio, where he was playing chess in the locker room. Lars challenged me and won easily in just a few moves.Multiple losses and weeks later, Lars came to say hi when he was dressed up and going to a party. After a drink, I did a portrait of him. Lars pointed out the importance of the portrait title, that it would be BB as Brigitte Bardot, the alter-ego of him when he dresses up for the party.”
Go and see!

Helsinki Fried Pike pops up at the courtyard of Laboratory on the upcoming Restaurant Day, Saturday 19th. The concept is simple: fish’n'chips with a Finnish twist.
– Pike is delicious, organic and local food. The meat is lo-fat, so a little bit of frying makes it even more yummy, explains fish-a-holic Pekka Toivonen, one of faces behind HFP.
– Everybody loves junk food, but this one’s actually not junk at all, but fast food made out of best possible ingredients, adds campaign office manager Hanna Karppinen.
Fast food becomes slow food, as the fishing takes its time, as well as all the handmade preparing of the food.
– We’ve been reeling in every gram by ourselves. For the potato receipe, we tried out almost every cultivar, and even the mayo will be homemade, says Pekka.
Helsinki Fried Pike will be open on Saturday from 5 pm on and closes down after 100 meals is sold. The meal costs 8 euros, including a Laitila’s Sitruunasooda softdrink.
