Helsinki Photography Biennial – Opening of The Month of Photography
We had the pleasure of co-hosting the opening event and party of Helsinki Photography Biennial’s The Month of Photography on March 31st. This special month is the second part in the celebration of photography art and consisting of nearly 40 exhibitions around Helsinki. During the opening event Laboratory invited four upcoming photographers to discuss of new fresh ways of curating, in the form of self-published magazines and online platforms. Helen Korpak, Katri Naukkarinen, Verna Kovanen and Veli-Matti Hoikka all agreed that there are not enough platforms for displaying photography art, and that being independent and trusting one’s own vision and intuition ensures the most interesting results.
After a vivid discussion it was time for some mingling, drinks and music. Our great gratitude goes to Wennerco and Hartwall for making the party with us.
